Kerri Chandler

Kerri Chandler, born September 28, 1969 in East Orange, New Jersey, is an American DJ and producer recognized as one of the pioneers of deep house. Born into a family of jazz musicians, he began playing records at the age of 13 and producing at 14. His first single, "SuperLover/Get It Off", was released in 1991 on Atlantic Records. In the 1980s, he was resident DJ at Newark's Club Zanzibar, a mecca for New Jersey's deep house scene. He founded Madhouse Records in 1992, which ceased operations in 2023 after 31 years. Chandler is also known for performances lasting six hours or more, incorporating elements of soul, jazz, funk and other rhythms into his sets. In 2022, he released his eighth studio album, Spaces and Places, a tribute to clubs around the world, featuring 24 tracks recorded live in various nightclubs. The album receives critical acclaim and is nominated for Best Album at the DJ Mag Best of North America Awards 2023. In 2025, his track "You Are in My System" reaches number 35 in the UK singles chart.
