Kendell Marvel is an American singer-songwriter from Southern Illinois. He began performing in Honky Tonks with his father at age 10 and moved to Nashville, Tennessee, in the 1990s to pursue a career as a songwriter. On his first day there, he co-wrote "Right Where I Need to Be," which Gary Allan recorded and reached number 5 on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart. Marvel went on to collaborate with artists including George Strait, Jamey Johnson, and Jake Owen. He released his debut solo album, Lowdown & Lonesome, in 2017, followed by Solid Gold Sounds in 2019. Marvel has written over 60 songs with Chris Stapleton, including the Grammy-winning track "Either Way," and co-wrote the title track of Jamey Johnson's Grammy-nominated album That Lonesome Song.
