Kristopher Thomas Campbell, known professionally as K Camp, was born on April 27, 1990, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He is an American rapper, singer, and songwriter who began his recording career in 2009. Raised in Atlanta, Georgia, Campbell's early influences included André 3000, Tupac Shakur, and The Notorious B.I.G. His initial breakthrough came with the single "Money Baby" in 2013, which led to a signing with Interscope Records. That same year, his single "Cut Her Off", featuring 2 Chainz, reached Number 49 on the Billboard Hot 100 and received platinum certification from the Recording Industry Association of America. His debut EP In Due Time was released in April 2014. K Camp's debut studio album, Only Way Is Up, was released in September 2015 and peaked at Number 20 on the Billboard 200. The album included the double platinum-certified single "Comfortable." In 2018, he founded Rare Sound Records and released his second studio album RARE Sound. His third album, Wayy 2 Kritical, was released in June 2019 and featured the viral single "Lottery (Renegade)," which inspired a dance challenge on TikTok. In April 2020, he released his fourth album, K.I.S.S. 5. K Camp was selected as part of the XXL 2015 Freshman Class and named by Rolling Stone as a "New Artist You Need To Know" that same year. Float was released in August of 2021 and featured the single, "Life Has Changed," with PnB Rock. Vibe Forever followed in 2022, his last album with Interscope Records. Recorded in the UK and produced by Trappin N London, Float 2 London was released in 2024. Both Built Different and Kiss 6 saw their releases in 2025, each with deluxe versions. Kiss 6 included the track, "Come Back Home" featuring Jacquees.
