Jurgen Von Der Lippe

Jürgen von der Lippe was born on March 8, 1948 in Bad Salzuflen and grew up in Aachen. He is one of the best-known German entertainers of the 1980s and 1990s. In addition to his career as a television presenter, he also made a musical appearance early on. He gained his first stage experience in Berlin folk clubs, where he founded the group Gebrüder Blattschuss together with other artists in the mid-1970s. He was active there until 1978. As a solo artist, he has been combining music, cabaret and satire since the early 1980s. His musical style can be categorized as music cabaret. He enjoyed great success with humorous songs about interpersonal relationships, everyday absurdities and role models. In 1987, he released the album Guten Morgen, liebe Sorgen - it reached number 4 in the German album charts and remained listed for 20 weeks. The single of the same name "Guten Morgen, liebe Sorgen" climbs to number 3 in the German singles charts and stays there for over 22 weeks. Further successful albums followed, such as Is was (1989, No. 62), Der Blumenmann (1995, No. 78), Männer, Frauen, Vegetarier (1998, No. 23) and So bin ich (2001, No. 59). Some of his releases have achieved gold status, including the best-of album Das Beste aus 30 Jahren (2008) and the collection Beim Dehnen singe ich Balladen (2015). In his songs, Jürgen von der Lippe regularly tackles social and private topics with wit and irony.
