Jörg Bausch

Jörg Bausch, born 5 March 1973 in Essen, Germany, is a German Schlager singer, lyricist, and composer. After completing schooling at the Bischof‑von‑Ketteler‑Schule and training as a butcher, he worked as a truck driver and stage builder before performing at local festivals in North Rhine‑Westphalia. His breakthrough came with the 2000 single "Wetten dass...", which attracted attention in the pop‑schlager scene. Bausch released his debut album Lust am Leben on 14 April 2005, followed by Unglaublich on 21 August 2006, featuring singles "Dieser Flug" and "Wie ein Wolf in der Nacht". Signing with Gloriella Music under Sony Music, he produced Denn ich fliege (2008), Tornado (18 September 2009) and Starkstrom ( October ); the 2008 album peaked at number 63 in the German charts. In 2012 he joined EMI Music and released Kopfkino (2 March 2012) and a live DVD, reaching number 72. Subsequent releases included Total Verbauscht – Best Of (2013), In Bausch und Bogen (6 October 2014), Gentleman (2016), and the digitally released 12 Farben (2020). Bausch has performed in sold‑out shows at the Bochumer Starlight Express Theater and the König‑Pilsener‑Arena, founded the labels Bausch Recording and Hit‑Pop Music, and produced works for other schlager artists. His YouTube channel amassed over 10 million views by February 2022, and he has received awards such as the Ballermann‑Award 2011 for “Best Pop‑Schlager” and the Schlager Saphir 2010 for “Best Live Artist.”
