After studying music, he worked as a composer in the 1970s. He became famous in 1982 with the song "Amore Mio", which brought him his first major attention. His biggest hit is "Du bist alles (Maria, Maria)" from 1987, composed by Drafi Deutscher. In 1991 and 1992, he formed the pop duo New Mixed Emotions with Drafi Deutscher and released the album Side by Side, from which the singles "Sensuality (When I Touch You)" and "Lonely Lover" were taken. In 1994, he reached 3rd place at the German Schlager Festival with "So lieb ich dich" and was awarded the Bronze Muse. In later years, a mixture of albums and singles followed, including C'est la vie (2001), Das Beste (2002), Niemals zu alt (2003), Wir leben nur einmal (2005) and, most recently, the farewell album Hier in dem Moment (2023) with the single "Hier in dem Moment". In addition to his career as a singer, Andreas Martin composes songs for other pop musicians such as Wolfgang Petry, Juliane Werding, Nino de Angelo and Roger Whittaker.
