Known as the guitarist of Siouxsie and the Banshees from 1977 to 1979, John McKay was born on June 6, 1958. Despite the short time he spent playing with the British post-punk band, featured on the albums The Scream (1978) and Join Hands (1979), his contribution remained decisive, both as soloist and composer, notably of "Hong Kong Garden". After his departure, he formed the group Zor Gabor, active between 1982 and 1987, then moved away from music to work in fashion. In 2025, the guitarist made a comeback with the album Sixes and Sevens, featuring contributions from Kenny Morris, Matthew Seligman (Soft Boys) and Andy Diagram.
