John Carter Cash, born on March 3, 1970, in Nashville, Tennessee, is an American singer-songwriter, musician, and author. He is the son of Johnny Cash and June Carter Cash. Following his parents into show business, John Carter Cash began his career as a music producer for his mother's albums Press On and Wildwood Flower, which won a Grammy Award for Best Traditional Folk Album in 1990. He also served as an associate producer on his father's albums American III: Solitary Man (2000) and American IV: The Man Comes Around (2002). In the early 1990s, he toured with Johnny Cash as a rhythm guitarist. His debut solo album, Bitter Harvest, was released in 2003. He has produced recordings for artists such as Sheryl Crow, Loretta Lynn, and Willie Nelson. John Carter Cash owns and operates Cash Cabin Enterprises, LLC., a music production company based at the Cash Cabin Studio. Cash also released albums The Family Secret (2010), We Must Believe in Magic (2018), and Pineapple John (2025).
