Kim Hyo-jin (Korean: 김효진; born September 18, 1981), known professionally as JeA (제아), is a South Korean singer, songwriter, and music producer. Best recognized as the leader and main vocalist of the influential girl group Brown Eyed Girls, JeA played a pivotal role in forming the group, selecting members Narsha, Ga In, and Miryo. Initially performing as "Crescendo," the group officially debuted as Brown Eyed Girls in 2006 and gained widespread acclaim for their distinctive sound and mature themes. JeA launched her solo career in 2013 with her debut album Just JeA, making her the last member of Brown Eyed Girls to pursue solo work. Beyond her vocal performances, she is also a composer and producer, contributing to her group's music and crafting songs for other artists. JeA's solo work includes notable singles like "Because You Sting" with G.O and "Let's Hug" with Jeong Yeop, and she has contributed songs to numerous Korean drama soundtracks, solidifying her presence in the industry. In August 2021, JeA ended her contract with Mystic Story and, in 2022, signed with Green Snake E&M, continuing to expand her solo career.
