Javier Rosas y Su Artillería Pesada is a corrido-driven outfit founded in 2010 in Ciudad Obregón, Sonora, and fronted by singer-songwriter Javier Rosas, whose rotating “Artillería” ensemble anchors accordion, bajo sexto, bass/tuba and percussion onstage and in the studio. Early independent cuts led to a national breakthrough with the single “En la Sierra y en la Ciudad ‘La China’,” which reached the Top 10 on Billboard’s Regional Mexican Airplay in 2014 and framed the Fonovisa debut Llegué para Quedarme the same year; Javier Rosas was recognized with a Golden Microphone radio award in 2015. The catalog expanded with the studio sets Hecho en México (2017) and La Ley de la Selva (2018), plus a run of live projects that included En Vivo con Banda (2017) and Más Vivo Que en Vivo, Vol. 2 (2020). After singles such as “Denver Ruleteamos” (with Los Minis de Caborca) and “La Suma,” the group returned with the compact, hard-hitting album Hombre de Ley in 2023, spawning videos for “Don Adán,” “Comandante Tanque” and the title track. A dense live cycle followed in 2024 with Explosión de Corridos (En Vivo) and the collaborative concert album En Contacto (En Vivo) with Contacto Norte, alongside standalone releases “El Diamante,” “FTP La Carrera Final” and “Gato x Liebre (En Vivo).” Momentum continued into 2025 through De Sonora Para El Mundo (En Vivo)—a crossover cumbia-leaning set with Su Majestad La Brissa highlighted by “La Catrina,” “¡Viva Tepupa!” and classic popurrís—and the guest-packed single “El Cartier (En Vivo)” with Lupe Borbon y su Blindaje 7 and Carlos Rosas, underscoring Javier Rosas’s mix of corrido grit, Sonoran party energy and collaborative reach.
