Isaiah Rashad

American rapper born in Chattanooga, Tennessee, on May 16, 1991, Isaiah Rashad McClain was destined to become a pastor when an OutKast album, ATLiens, lent to him by his half-brother, diverted him from his vocation to devote himself to music. He then spent his time recording demos, which he passed on to acquaintances, earning him a place on the Smoker's Club Tour in summer 2012, alongside Juicy J and Joey Bada$$. A year after much negotiation, he signs with Top Dawg Entertainment. A debut track, "Shot You Down", features his labelmates Schoolboy Q and Jay Rock, while an EP called Cilvia: Demo emerged in January 2014 and peaked at No. 40 on the Billboard 200, while his debut album The Sun's Tirade (2016), featuring guest appearances from SZA, Jay Rock, Kendrick Lamar, Kari Faux and Syd Tha Kyd, debuted at No. 17 on the Billboard 200. The rapper didn't return until five years later, with The House Is Burning, recorded with contributions from, among others, Lil Uzi Vert, Duke Deuce and Smino. This second album reached number 7 on the US album chart. Several collaborations followed, with Zacari, Ray Vaughn, Kembe X, SIR ("Karma", 2024), Mez and Karl Banx ("Sunstory"), before the May 2026 release of Isaiah Rashad's third opus, It's Been Awful, with the first single "Same Sh!t", as well as SZA on "Boy in Red" and Dominic Fike on "Cameras" .
