In The Valley Below is an American rock band from Grand Rapids, Michigan, formed in Echo Park, California in 2011 by Jeffrey Jacob Mendel and Angela Gail Mattson. They released their first EP, In the Valley Below (2011). Their debut album, The Belt (2014), featured the single "Peaches" (2013), which peaked at number 18 on the Billboard Alternative Songs chart. They supported various tours for artists such as Albert Hammond Jr., Tricky, White Lies, Cold War Kids, and Sir Sly, performing at notable festivals including Reading and Leeds, Rock en Seine, Pukkelpop, and Austin City Limits. In 2017, they released the EP Elephant (2017), which included the single "Bloodhands (Oh My Fever)" (2017). Their sophomore album and feature film, The Pink Chateau (2019), was released via Bright Antenna Records, featuring the single "Rise" (2019) produced by Dave Sitek of TV on the Radio. Their discography also includes the album The Black Moon (2024).
