Immolation

Immolation, a death metal band from Yonkers, New York, was formed in 1986 as Rigor Mortis by Andrew Sakowicz, Dave Wilkinson, and Robert Vigna. After releasing demos Decomposed and Warriors of Doom, Andrew Sakowicz left and Ross Dolan joined the band, which then changed its name to Immolation. In 1991, they signed with Roadrunner Records and released their debut album Dawn of Possession. The band subsequently released albums through Metal Blade Records and Listenable Records/Century Media. Notable releases include Here in After (1996), Failures for Gods (1999), Close to a World Below (2000) and Unholy Cult (2002). Immolation toured extensively, including a European tour in 2001. They released Majesty and Decay (2010) through Nuclear Blast and the EP Providence (2011). In 2013, they released Kingdom of Conspiracy, again via Nuclear Blast, and toured with Cannibal Corpse and Napalm Death. Immolation's tenth full-length album, Atonement, was released in 2017, followed by their eleventh, Acts of God, in 2022. Four years later, the band returned with Descent.
