Hikari Mitsushima

Hikari Mitsushima, born on November 30, 1985, in Kagoshima, Japan, is a Japanese actress, singer, and model. She started her music career in 1997 as a teen idol singer in J-pop groups Folder and Folder 5. She began her acting journey in the same year, starring as Shiori Uchiura in the kaiju film Rebirth of Mothra II, continuing her film career with roles in the 2006 manga-based thriller Death Note and the 2008 comedy-drama Love Exposure - a performance which earned her critical acclaim and several awards. Over the years, Mitsushima contributed vocals to Japanese pop singles, performing on “Pride ~ A Part of Me~”, the theme song to the 2009 Japanese drama Pride. In 2017, she provided lead vocals for the fictional band Doughnuts Hole's "Otona no Okite," the theme song for the TV drama Quartet, in which she also starred. She also featured as a guest vocalist in Mondo Grosso's song "Labyrinth" and appeared as a dancer in its music video, which gained over 35 million views online. In 2022, she collaborated with Grosso and Ryuichi Sakamoto on "In This World", establishing her own label, rhapsodies, the following year. In March 2023, she collaborated with singer Daichi Miura and Japanese jazz group SOIL&"PIMP"SESSIONS on the single "eden" releasing solo single "Shadow Dance," in September, which reached the 39th position on the charts.
