Guano Apes

The German rock band Guano Apes, also known as Guano Babes, was founded in Göttingen in 1994 by Henning Rümenapp, Dennis Poschwatta, Sandra Nasić and Stefan Ude. Their debut album Proud Like a God was released in 1997 and stayed in the German charts for over a year. The singles "Open Your Eyes" and "Lords of the Boards" also became well-known hits for the band. The second album Don't Give Me Names , released in 2000, won an Echo and an MTV Music Award before Walking on a Thin Line (2003) also achieved international success. Both albums reached the top of the German charts before the band finally disbanded in 2006. Three years later, the members got back together to play a few festivals and finally released another number 1 album in 2011 under the title Bel Air. It was not until the LP Offline, released in 2014, that they were unable to repeat their earlier commercial success.
