Göran Söllscher

Göran Söllscher, born on December 31, 1955 in Växjö, Sweden, is a Swedish classical guitarist. He began guitar lessons at the age of seven and studied at the Malmö Conservatory from 1975 to 1977 and at the Royal Conservatory in Copenhagen from 1976 to 1979. His breakthrough came in 1978 when he won the Concours International de Guitare in Paris, after which he signed a long-term recording contract with Deutsche Grammophon. Throughout his career, he has released numerous recordings for that label. Since 1992 he has been a member of the Royal Swedish Academy of Music, and since 1993 he has been a professor at Lund University in Malmö.
