gnkosaiBAND

gnkosaiBAND, officially styled as such but with its reading left up to the listener, was formed in 2013 and became a four-piece group in 2015, expanding their activity across Yokohama and Shonan. Their music blends reggae, blues, and psychedelic influences, rooted in various traditions of roots music, but distinguished by the poetic spoken-word delivery of drummer gnkosai. The result is a sound that defies simple categorization, yet remains wholly their own. Known for free-spirited and unpredictable live performances, the band has built a reputation for shows that leave audiences laughing and engaged. gnkosaiBAND has participated in numerous festivals, including Ringo Ongakusai, Iwai Haru Ichiban, Theater Ishinha Yataimura Performances, and Taiwan’s Spring Scream. They have also shared stages with international acts such as DAM (PNA), Blue-eyed Son (L.A.), HeyMoonShaker (U.K.), and EL HARU KUROI (L.A.), highlighting their openness to diverse collaborations. Their discography includes Suikirenai (2021), Shirushi no nai ongaku (2025) and "Kyoumi ga nee"(2025). Since 2018, the band has been a regular performer at “Kaneko Mari Presents 5th ElementWill” every third Saturday at Shimokitazawa 440, maintaining a consistent presence in the Japanese live scene. The members are gnkosai (Dr / Poet), Vi-Ta (Key / Cho), Adachi PANICSouichiro (Gt /Cho) and Emi Okazaki (Syn /Cho).
