Glass Tiger

Glass Tiger, a Canadian rock band from Newmarket, Ontario, formed in 1983. The original lineup included vocalist Alan Frew, bassist Wayne Parker, keyboardist Sam Reid, guitarist Al Connelly, and drummer Michael Hanson. Their debut album, The Thin Red Line, released on June 11, 1986, marked a significant breakthrough. Produced by Jim Vallance, the album featured Bryan Adams' vocal cameo on "Don't Forget Me (When I'm Gone)" and reached quadruple platinum status in Canada and gold in the United States. The singles "Don't Forget Me (When I'm Gone)" and "Someday" both charted in the U.S. Top 10, earning Glass Tiger three Juno Awards in 1986: Album of the Year for The Thin Red Line, Single of the Year for "Don't Forget Me (When I'm Gone)", and Most Promising Group of the Year. Following their debut success, Glass Tiger released Diamond Sun on April 13, 1988, which went triple platinum in Canada. The band's third album, Simple Mission, was released on March 22, 1991, and certified platinum in Canada. After a hiatus from 1993 to 2003, Glass Tiger reformed with new drummer Chris McNeill and continued touring. Notable performances include visits to Canadian Forces stationed in Kandahar, Afghanistan, in 2009 and 2010, and tours across Canada with Roxette in 2012. The band released their fourth studio album, 31, in 2018, followed by 2019's 33 and 2020's Songs for a Winter Night.
