Giovanny Enrique Murcia Ayala was born on May 2, 1976, in Granada, Meta, and raised in Villavicencio, where, at just five years old, he began singing in his family’s courtyard inspired by Reynaldo Armas. He released his debut album El Catire Norteño in 2005, followed by Así es que se canta (2008), which included the breakthrough hit “De Rodillas Te Pido,” propelling him to national fame with its emotional depth and heartfelt performance. In 2009, he released El que se enamora pierde, continuing to expand his reach across Colombia, Mexico, Ecuador and beyond. The 2011 album Sencillamente Popular further cemented his status in the música popular scene. Giovanny Ayala has toured internationally—including performances at Madison Square Garden—and in 2024 released the live EP Seguimos Dejando Huella, reaffirming his career longevity. 2025 saw the release of the single "No Estaba Hablando en Serio," which peaked at number 49 on the Billboard Latin Airplay chart.
