GHOSTWOMAN

Ghostwoman is a Canadian psych-rock project led by multi-instrumentalist / singer Evan Uschenko, originally from Alberta and now based partly in the UK. After touring as a guitarist with Michael Rault, he began recording under the Ghostwoman name around 2016, crafting a raw blend of garage rock, psychedelia, and post-punk minimalism. His music is marked by lo-fi production, hypnotic riffs, and a dark, cinematic atmosphere that recalls acts like The Black Angels or Wooden Shjips. The project’s self-titled debut appeared in 2022, followed by Anne, If (2023), confirming Ghostwoman as one of the most distinctive new voices in contemporary psych. The band followed with Belgian drummer and singer Ille Van Dessel for the albums Hindsight Is 50/50 (2023), and Welcome to the Civilized World (2025).
