George Birge

After kickstarting his career as a member of the country-pop duo Waterloo Revival, George Birge went solo with 2021's "Beer Beer, Truck Truck," a song inspired by a viral TikTok video. He was born in Austin, Texas, and starting writing original music with childhood friend Cody Cooper while both were still teenagers. The two formed Waterloo Revival in 2013, signed with Big Machine Records shortly thereafter, and released the singles "Hit the Road" and "Bad for You," both of which narrowly missed the Top 50 of the Country Airplay chart. When the group split up in early 2021, Birge continued writing songs on his own, several of which were recorded by acts like Clay Walker and Gary LeVox. Inspired by a TikTok video of social activist Erynn Chambers satirizing modern-day country music, he also co-wrote "Beer Beer, Truck Truck," a country anthem that became his first single as a solo artist. Released in 2021, the song landed him a record deal, as well as a large following on social media. He released a second solo single, "Mind on You," in 2022. The song reached Number 55 on Billboard's Country Airplay chart, virtually matching the commercial success of his singles with Waterloo Revival.
