General Base

eneral Base is a German Eurodance and trance project from Frankfurt am Main. The group was founded in 1991 by producers Thomas Kukula and Michael Gommeringer and singer Claudja Barry. Later, General Base also worked with rappers and other studio musicians. General Base combines Eurodance, techno, trance and house with fast beats, female vocals and electronic melodies. At the beginning of the 1990s, the project was one of the most successful German dance acts in the international club scene. The single "Poison" was released in 1993. The song reached number 12 in the German single charts and also became a club hit in France and Spain. The debut album First follows in the same year. The single "Base Of Love" climbs to number 19 in Germany. In 1994, the group released "I See You" and "On And On". Both titles establish General Base in the European dance scene. The second album The Ultimate was released in 1995, followed shortly afterwards by the singles "In Trance" and "Rhythm & Drums". After that, the project increasingly withdrew from the charts.
