Frank Mills

Frank Mills, born on 27 June 1942 in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, is a pianist known for his contributions to classical music. He started learning piano at the age of three, influenced by his musical family. His breakthrough came when he released Music Box Dancer in 1978 with Polydor Records Canada. The album became a massive hit after being mistakenly sent to pop radio station CFRA-AM in Ottawa. The single reached number three on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1979, and the album went gold in Canada. This success was followed by other notable singles like "Peter Piper" and "Happy Song", both of which charted well. He picked up two Juno Awards in 1980 for "Peter Piper", one for Songwriter of the Year and one for Instrumental Artist of the Year, winning the latter again in 1981. He continued releasing albums through the early 1990s and performed tours with Canadian singer Rita MacNeil in 2010 and 2012. "Music Box Dancer" has been featured in various films and TV series, including The Simpsons and Kill Bill.
