Fireboy DML

Fireboy DML – born Adedamola Adefolahan in Ogun State, Nigeria on February 5, 1996– is a Nigerian Afrobeats singer and songwriter. Although he had sung in a local church choir, he became more interested in music while attending Obafemi Awolowo University. His first single, “Jealous," was released in 2018. Because of the song’s popularity, it was reissued in March 2019. In June that year, he released the single “What if I Say" dropped his debut album, Laughter, Tears and Goosebumps, that same year. It featured the previous two singles plus a third single, “King” and the popular non-single track “Vibration.” In August 2020, he released his second album Apollo, which featured the singles “New York City Girl”, “Eli,” “Shade,” and “Go Away." Fireboy DML's song "Scatter" from his debut album was included in the FIFA 21 game soundtrack. Out of many award nominations he received on the back of his debut album, he won Most Promising Act of the Year from City People Music Awards and the Listener’s Choice Award from the Soundcity MVP Awards Festival. In 2021, Fireboy DML released new single "Peru," which was also followed by a remix of the song featuring Ed Sheeran. That same year, the Nigerian star teamed with WSTRN for "Be My Guest" and Ladipoe for "Running."
