Ezequiel Peña

Ezequiel Peña is a Mexican singer of regional Mexican music who was born in San José del Valle, Nayarit, on December 3, 1968. Known by nicknames including “El Charro de México”, “El Rey de la Banda y el Mariachi”, and “El Cheque Peña”, his musical style incorporates mariachi, banda sinaloense, tecnobanda, and norteño genres. At 19 years of age, he relocated to the United States. He began his recording career with a debut demo recording in 1990 and subsequently performed as lead vocalist for tecnobanda group Banda Vallarta Show for three years. During this period, he achieved professional recognition for tracks “Esa Chica Me Vacila” and “Provócame”. Peña launched his solo career and released studio recordings through label Narlup Records, including Orgullo ranchero (1996), El de Nayarit (2005), and El Rey de la Banda y el Mariachi (2006).
