Els Pets

Els Pets, a Catalan rock band from Constantí, Tarragona, Catalonia, was formed in 1985 by Lluís Gavaldà, Joan Reig, and Falin Cáceres. The group initially performed locally, distinguishing themselves with a style they termed "agricultural rock," which reflected their rural roots and offered a humorous critique of regional issues. Their debut album, Els Pets, was released in 1989, showcasing a blend of rockabilly and ska influences. The band's breakthrough came with the release of "Bondia" (1997), which sold seventy-five thousand copies and went gold in Spain. Notable albums include Calla¡ Balla! (1991) and Fruits Sex (1992). Els Pets continued to evolve their sound with releases like "Respira" (2001), "Agost" (2004), and "Fràgil" (2010), each marked by introspective lyrics and a rich variety of instruments. The band has also participated in notable projects, such as the documentary Rock&Cat (2006).
