Einherjer

Einherjer, a Norwegian folk metal band from Haugesund, Rogaland, was formed in 1993 by Frode Glesnes and Gerhard Storesund. The group initially featured Rune Bjelland on vocals and Jarle Kvåle on bass. Their early releases included the demo “Aurora Borealis” (1993) and the EP “Leve Vikingånden” (1995). In 1996, Einherjer released their debut album “Dragons of the North,” followed by “Odin Owns Ye All” in 1998. The band disbanded in 2004 but reunited in 2008 for live performances. After signing with Indie Recordings, Einherjer released several albums, including “Norrøn” (2011) and “Norrøne Spor” (2018). The band's discography includes notable songs such as “Far Far North” (1996) and “Ballad of the Swords” (2014), the latter featuring a music video directed by Costin Chioreanu. Einherjer continues to perform at various festivals, including Ragnarök Festival, Kaltenbach Open Air, Wacken Open Air, and Summer Breeze Open Air.
