Eighteen Visions

Eighteen Visions, formed in Orange County, California in October 1995, began as a local hardcore outfit featuring James Hart on vocals and early members Dave Peters, Billy Sisler, and Kenneth Floyd. The group released its debut EP Lifeless in 1997, followed by the full‑length Yesterday Is Time Killed in March 1999 on Cedargate Records, establishing a presence in the emerging metalcore scene. In 1999 the EP Time for Love expanded their reach, while the 2000 album Until the Ink Runs Out achieved significant sales and was later recognized by Loudwire as the 21st-best metalcore album of all time. Subsequent releases—The Best of Eighteen Visions (2001), Vanity (2002), Obsession (2004), and the self‑titled Eighteen Visions (2006) through Epic/Trustkill—demonstrated a shift toward melodic hard‑rock, though commercial success remained modest. The band disbanded in April 2007 after touring and label complications. Reuniting in 2017, they issued comeback album XVIII via Rise Records, featuring the singles "Oath" and "Crucified", and honored former bassist Mick Morris with the tribute track "Live Again". Subsequent projects included the EP Inferno (2020), the 2021 covers album 1996, and the 2023 EP Purgatorio, along with singles "Rot of Humanity" and "Reality Killer".
