Dove Cameron

Born Chloe Celeste Hosterman on January 15th, 1996 in Washington, actor and singer Dove Cameron is one of a cadre of American teen appeal actors who has capitalised on their acting celebrity to launch a parallel career in the music business. She is known for playing both lead characters in the Disney Channel teen sitcom Liv and Maddie, a series which was successful upon its launch in 2013 but which saw its audience drop considerably during its four-year run. To launch her pop career, Dove Cameron chose to record a number of cover versions by artists such as Imagine Dragons and Christina Aguilera as well as perform songs from the various TV and film productions she had worked on. The strategy was effective and Dove Cameron's singles have regularly been in the top five of Billboard's Kid Digital Songs Chart. A role in the TV series Descendants boosted her appeal and two of the songs from the series made it into the Billboard Hot 100. Her debut EP, Bloodshot / Waste, was released in 2019 and the following year she was named Favorite Movie Actress at the Kids' Choice Awards. 2020 saw her release a pair of new singles, "We Belong" and "Remember Me" with Bia, and 2021 marked the arrival of "LazyBaby," which she described as her "breakthrough song". In 2022, she took her career up a notch with the release of statement-making anthem "Boyfriend", which went viral on Internet and gave her a Number 65 position in the US.
