Selena Gomez

The prototypical modern child star, Selena Gomez (born in Grand Prairie, Texas, on July 22, 1992) began her career as an actress for the Disney Channel before turning to singing as a teenager. Her first album, Kiss & Tell, was released in autumn 2009. It arrived in France in spring 2010, closely followed by A Year Without Rain in autumn, featuring the hit "Round & Round". 2011 sees the release of Selena Gomez & the Scene's third album, When the Sun Goes Down, which includes the hit "Who Says". It's a short step from teen pop to electro dance pop, which Selena Gomez takes on her own on the 2013 album Stars Dance, featuring the hit "Come & Get It". After a return to film sets, the young woman of Mexican descent returned to song with the duet "I Want You to Know" with Zedd and the album Revival, which inaugurated her contract with Interscope Records in 2015. It will take another five years for the singer to get to grips with her successor, christened Rare and released in 2020. It is ideally launched by the single "Lose You to Love Me", which deals with her history with Canadian singer Justin Bieber and manages to reach number one in the US charts, a first for Selena Gomez. In early 2021, the singer released her first Spanish-language single, "De Una Vez", soon followed by "Baila Conmigo", recorded in collaboration with Puerto Rican rapper Rauw Alejandro, which foreshadowed the release of her second EP Revelación, nominated for both Grammy and Latin Grammy Awards. In 2025, the singer called on producer, composer and multi-instrumentalist Benny Blanco for her fourth solo album, I Said I Love You First, which debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 and featured contributions from Gracie Abrams and The Marias.
