DJ Shocca

Real name Matteo Bernacchi, DJ Shocca is an Italian producer and DJ born in Treviso, Veneto, on March 28, 1979. A key figure in independent Italian rap, he is considered one of the architects of the transalpine boom bap sound since the late 1990s. A founding member of the Unlimited Struggle collective, he has collaborated with a host of renowned artists such as Club Dogo, Inoki, Kaos, Frank Siciliano and Mistaman, playing an active part in shaping a demanding Italian rap scene rooted in the New York tradition while asserting a strong national identity. His album 60 Hz, released in 2004, is a major milestone in Italian hip-hop: it brings together some of the greatest voices of the time, with deep, melodic beats and a resolutely underground aesthetic. Renowned for his artisanal approach to sampling, DJ Shocca cultivates a fidelity to groove and classic rhythm that never gives in to commercial trends. He is also active as a sound engineer and master of mixing and mastering in numerous rap projects. After his other albums Struggle Music (2007), La Scatola Nera with Mistaman (2012), 4 Mani with Inoki (2022) and Sacrosanto (2023), he follows up his cult debut with 60 Hz II (2025), featuring a host of collaborators including Ghemon, Neffa, Guè, Ernia, Izi, Gemitaiz, Johnny Marsiglia, Silent Bob, Siciliano, Nerone, Jake La Furia, Madbuddy, Ele A, Nitro, Clementino and Mistaman.
