DJ Food

DJ Food is an iconic British electronic music project, originally conceived in 1990 by Coldcut members Matt Black and Jonathan More on the independent Ninja Tune label. In its early days, DJ Food was a collective comprising Matt Black, Jonathan More, Patrick Carpenter (aka PC) and Kevin Foakes (aka Strictly Kev). Over time, the project came to revolve around Strictly Kev, who is now its main architect. Known for their blending of electro and hip-hop genres, the collective associated with the Solid Steel radio show released five volumes of the Jazz Brakes series between 1990 and 1994, followed by the albums A Recipe for Disaster (1995), Refried Food (remixes, 1996), Kaleidoscope (2000) and The Search Engine (2012).
