Disiz

Real name Sérigne M'Baye Gueye, Disiz (formerly known as Disiz la Peste), was born on March 22, 1978 in Amiens, Somme (France), to a Senegalese father and a Belgian mother. He grew up in the Épinettes district of Évry, in the Essonne region, where he discovered rap by familiarizing himself with the repertoire of pioneers such as IAM and NTM. A member of the Rimeurs à Gages collective, he was spotted by JoeyStarr after the maxi "Bête de bombe (Ce que les gens veulent entendre)". In 2000, he was asked to contribute to the soundtrack of the film Taxi 2, as part of the One Shot collective, which included Faf Larage, Nuttea, Jalane, Vasquez Lusi (from the group Less du Neuf) and Taïro. But above all, 2000 saw the release of Disiz's first album, Le Poisson Rouge, which was a resounding success, reaching number 5 in the French charts, thanks in particular to the single "J'pète les plombs " (no. 6). From then on, the man who would also embark on a parallel career as an actor and writer, embarked on one musical project after another, from Jeu de Société (No. 31 in 2003) to Disizilla in 2018, via albums such as Les Histoires Extra-Ordinaires d'un Jeune de Banlieue (No. 30 in 2006), Disiz the End (No. 45 in 2009), Lucide and Extra-Lucide (respectively No. 21 and No. 6 in 2012), as well as Transe-Lucide (No. 14 in 2014), Rap Machine (No. 12 in 2015) and Pacifique (No. 8 in 2017). In 2022, Disiz made his comeback with L'Amour, which reached No. 4 in the SNEP chart, his highest position before the release in 2025 of his successor On S'en Rappellera Pas, featuring a duet with Kid Cudi, which improved his score with the second place in the chart.
