Viktor Nikolayevich Belan, known professionally as Dima Bilan, was born on December 24, 1981, in Ust-Dzheguta, Soviet Union. Bilan is a singer who gained prominence through participation in the Eurovision Song Contest. In 2000, his first music video, âOtoñoâ (2000), aired on MTV Russia. A breakthrough occurred in 2002 at the New Wave festival with the song âBoomâ (2002), which reached fourth place. Bilan released the debut album Ya Nochnoi Juligan (2003). Bilan represented Russia at the Eurovision Song Contest in 2006 with the song âNever Let You Goâ (2006), finishing in second place, and again in 2008 with âBelieveâ (2008), which reached Number 1. Subsequent albums include Protiv Pravil (2008), Mechtateli (2011), and Egoist (2017). Bilan is a recipient of the Golden Gramophone Award and was named an Honored Artist of the Russian Federation in 2018.
