Dilbert Aguilar y su Orquesta La Tribu is a Peruvian cumbia group led by singer-songwriter Dilbert Aguilar (Esladi Edilberto Aguilar Fernández), born in Jaén, Cajamarca in 1974. Aguilar formed his own group in 1999 under the name Agua Dulce, then rebranded it in 2000 as Orquesta La Tribu, with Aguilar as lead vocalist and the central public face of the project. The early repertoire was built around fan staples like âVuela palomitaâ and âMis últimas lágrimas,â and his discography spans multiple full-length releases across the 2000s and 2010s, including AgonÃa de amor (2008), Sacude el billete (2010), No te preocupes por mi (2013), El amor más grande del planeta (2013), Cumbia paâ trasnochar and Cumbia peruana (both 2015), Tropicales, full primicias (2017), Mix Leo Dan (2019), and Despierta corazón (2020). Alongside recordings, Dilbert Aguilar has been visible in Peruvian media, including an acting guest spot in the TV series Ojitos hechiceros (2019). In the 2020s, the orchestra has remained active with live-focused releases and steady singles output, keeping the bandâs romantic, dancehall-ready cumbia identity at the center of its work.
