Decapitated

Decapitated is a Polish death metal ensemble formed in 1996 in Krosno. The group was established by guitarist Wacław Kiełtyka and his brother, drummer Witold Kiełtyka. The ensemble released the demos Cemeteral Gardens (1997) and The Eye Of Horus (1998) before signing with Earache Records. Its debut studio recording, Winds of Creation, appeared in 2000. The band's discography included the albums Nihility (2002), The Negation (2004), and Organic Hallucinosis (2006), the latter featuring vocalist Adrian Kowanek. Following a period of inactivity, the ensemble resumed activity in 2009 with vocalist Rafał Piotrowski and released the recordings Carnival Is Forever (2011), Blood Mantra (2014), and Anticult (2017). The group released the album Cancer Culture in 2022. In 2024, Eemeli Bodde joined the group as lead vocalist. On 29 October 2007, the band was involved in a vehicle accident that resulted in Kowanek entering a coma. Witold Kiełtyka died from his injuries on 2 November 2007.
