Davido

David Adedeji Adeleke was born on November 21, 1992 in Atlanta, USA. But the future Nigerian artist, known by his stage name Davido, was raised in Lagos. It wasn't until the age of 16 that he returned to the United States to study business administration in Alabama. During this period, he developed a passion for music and began recording instrumentals. After a stopover in London, devoted to musical practice, he returned to Nigeria and resumed his studies, this time in music. In 2011, he unveils his debut album, Omo Baba Olowo, produced by Spellz, Shizzi and Maleek Berry among others, which combines afrobeats and rap. The album spawned the singles "Back When" and "Dami Durro". In 2013, he released a series of independent tracks: "Gobe", "One of a Kind", "Skelewu" and "Aye" . Two years later, he returned with the album The Baddest . A host of artists followed in his wake, including P-Square, Akon, Uhuru, Wale and Trey Songz. In 2016, he released a five-track EP, Son Mercy , and kept his fans waiting for a new album in the following years with the tracks "Fall" in 2017 and "Assurance" in 2018, which will be included in the 2019 opus A Good Time . A Good Time also features a number of collaborations, including "Blow My Mind" with Chris Brown and "D & G" with Summer Walker. The following year, he delivered A Better Time , featuring the duet with Nicki Minaj "Holy Ground", before waiting three years to finalize Timeless in 2023. This fourth album, which explores a wide range of styles from ragga to Afropop and dancehall, features contributions from the likes of Skepta, Angelique Kidjo and The Cavemen. Rapper Focalistic contributes to the single "Champion Sound". The album reaches #10 in the UK and #37 in the US. After a collaboration with Latto on "Unavailable", Davido teams up with Chris Brown on "Sensational" (with Lojay), then "Titanium", included on the album 5ive (2025), packed with guests such as YG Marley, Shenseea and 450, Victory and Musa Keys, Becky G, Omah Lay, Odumodublvck and Chike and Frenchmen Tayc and Dadju.
