David Dundas

David Paul Nicholas Dundas, born on June 2, 1945 in Oxford, United Kingdom, was an English singer and actor. He began his career as a musician during the 1970s, achieving significant chart success with his debut single "Jeans On" in 1976. The song reached number 3 on the UK Singles Chart and topped the German Singles Chart, remaining in the Top 10 for 19 weeks. Originally a television advertising jingle for Brutus Jeans, the lyrics were adapted for the single release. David Dundas's follow-up single "Another Funny Honeymoon" also gained traction, reaching number 29 in the UK and being performed live on the BBC Television show Top of the Pops in 1977. His musical career included several albums, notably David Dundas (1977) and Vertical Hold (1978). He co-wrote the score for the cult film Withnail & I (1987), which is considered one of Britain's biggest cult films. Additionally, he contributed to various television scores and advertising jingles throughout his career, including the theme music for TV-am's early morning news programme Daybreak. David Dundas also had a notable acting career, appearing in several TV series and films from 1968 onwards, with roles in productions such as City '68, Mosquito Squadron, and Churchill's People. He was educated at Harrow and the Central School of Speech and Drama.
