Dallas Smith is one of the most successful performers in Canadian country music, with a number of Canadian Country Music Awards and number one singles to his name in a career spanning over 20 years. Initially finding fame as the frontman of rock band Default, Smith pursued a solo career in country music releasing his first solo album 'Jumped Right In' in 2012. After Default confirmed a hiatus in 2013, Smith's solo career went from strength to strength and in 2016 he became the only Canadian country artist to have four consecutive number one singles from the same album (taking over the record previously held by Shania Twain). The album in question, 'Side Effects', unsurprisingly won Album of the Year at the 2017 Canadian Country Music Awards, the second time he had won the award. Smith also holds the record for most number one songs by a Canadian country artist with seven, again beating Shania Twain's long-held record. With a rapidly growing fan base particularly in the US, Smith was invited by country legend Keith Urban to join him on tour, and has received praise from the likes of Rolling Stone and The Huffington Post.
