Cœur de Pirate

Canadian singer-songwriter Béatrice Martin, aka Cœur de Pirate, was born in Outremont, Quebec, on September 22, 1989. Having practiced the piano since the age of three, she began performing in local bands before coming to prominence in 2007 through tracks posted on her social networks. She was still in her early twenties when her debut album of the same name was released in 2009, and enjoyed immediate success in Canada (No. 1) and France (No. 2), thanks in particular to the track "Comme des enfants" (No. 4, Victoire de la chanson in 2010) and the duet "Comme un infidèle" with Julien Doré (No. 1). In 2011, the young tattooed singer's second album, Blonde (No. 5 in France and Canada), featured the track "Adieu". Cœur de Pirate then diversified her activities, composing music for the video game Child of Light, an album of covers for the TV series Trauma, and participating in the La Bande à Renaud project with her cover of "Mistral gagnant". In 2015, he released his third bilingual, electro-pop album, Roses (#5 in France, #2 in Canada). Three years later, after taking part in the Les Souliers Rouges adventure with Marc Lavoine and Arthur H, the musician celebrated ten years of solo career with the album En Cas de Tempête, Ce Jardin Sera Fermé (No. 5 in France, No. 4 in Canada), a synthesis of her electronic and classical leanings, which earned her her 7th Prix Félix. An instrumental album, Perséides, preceded the 2021 songbook Impossible à Aimer (No. 36 in France, No. 24 in Canada). Over the following years, she collaborated successively with Kyo on a cover of their hit "Dernière danse" in 2023, Waxx on "I'm Not Okay (I Promise" in 2024 and Les Trois Accords on "Toujours les vacances" in 2025. The same year sees the release of his sixth album of songs, Cavale, which reaches No. 81 in the SNEP chart.
