Craig Wayne Boyd

Craig Wayne Boyd, born Craig Wayne Boyd on 31 December 1978 in Dallas, Texas, is a singer‑songwriter. Raised in the Dallas suburb of Mesquite, he was influenced by gospel and country music, played several instruments as a youth, later served as his church choir director. Boyd relocated to Nashville in 2004 to pursue a career, signing a publishing deal with EMI and writing for other artists while touring as an opening act for performers such as Jamey Johnson, Randy Houser and Brantley Gilbert. His first independent album, Craig Boyd, was released on 2 June 2008, followed by I Ain’t No Quitter on 28 March 2013. Boyd’s breakthrough came in 2014 when he won Season 7 of NBC’s The Voice as a member of Blake Shelton’s team; his original single "My Baby’s Got A Smile On Her Face" was issued under Universal Republic and debuted at Number 1 on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart. In 2017 he issued Top Shelf through Copperline Music Group, and in 2014 he released The Complete Season 7 Collection featuring his The Voice performances. Boyd has toured extensively, including a 65‑city tour after his win, and has performed at the Grand Ole Opry.
