Chiaki Ishikawa is a Japanese singer-songwriter and composer best known as the vocalist of the duo See-Saw, alongside Yuki Kajiura. She began her career under the name Chiaki Ishikawa and later performed solo under the alias "Somali" during See-Saw’s hiatus from 1995 to 2001. After See-Saw resumed activities in 2001, Ishikawa contributed lyrics for major anime theme songs, including "Anna ni Issho Datta no ni" for Mobile Suit Gundam SEED and "Kimi wa Boku ni Niteiru" for Mobile Suit Gundam SEED DESTINY. In 2003, she officially relaunched her solo career, releasing her self-written and composed album Inner Garden. In 2006, she signed with Victor Entertainment and debuted as a solo artist with "Utsukushikereba Sore de Ii". She performed at major anime music festivals like Animelo Summer Live and held concerts across China. Her 2008 single "Prototype" reached No. 3 on the Oricon charts. Her song, "Mou Nani mo Kowakunai, Kowaku wa Nai", an insert song for Puella Magi Madoka Magica, further solidified her presence in the anime music scene. In 2024, See-Saw released "Sarigiwa no Romantics", the ending theme for Mobile Suit Gundam SEED FREEDOM, marking their return to anime soundtracks.
