Cem Yıldız

Cem Yıldız, born in 1970 in Erzincan, is a Turkish musician known for blending traditional folk music with modern influences. He completed his primary and secondary education in Erzincan and graduated from Istanbul Technical University’s State Conservatory of Turkish Music. After university, he taught music, solfège, notation, and bağlama at various institutions, while also performing with prominent artists such as Zülfü Livaneli (1997–1999), Şükriye Tutkun (1999–2004), and Yıldız Tilbe (2004–2006). As a studio musician since 1999, Yıldız took part in the eight-album Turkish folk choral project Halimiz Ahvalimiz. He played bağlama in the musical Sultan Gelin at the Istanbul City Theaters and in 2004 released the debut album of his group Orient Expressions, which gained recognition for composing music for the TV series Hırsız Polis. The group also collaborated with Sabahat Akkiraz. As a solo artist, Yıldız has released multiple albums and singles, including albums like Aşk İmkânsız (2007), Cem'an (2016) and singles like "Dâr-ı Dünya" (2025).
