Cave In

Cave In was formed in 1995 in Methuen, Massachusetts, by Stephen Brodsky and Jay Frechette, who began writing songs in Frechette’s parents’ basement. The duo’s early work surfaced on a self‑titled 7‑inch released through Hydra Head Records in 1997. Their breakthrough came with the full‑length Until Your Heart Stops (1998), which established the band within the metalcore scene. In 2003, after signing with RCA Records, Cave In released Antenna, featuring the single "Anchor", and performed on the second stage of Lollapalooza. The group returned to Hydra Head for Perfect Pitch Black (2005) before entering a hiatus in 2006. The band re‑emerged in 2009 with the Planets Of Old EP and released White Silence (2011). After the death of bassist Caleb Scofield in 2018, Cave In released Final Transmission (2019) and, in 2022, Heavy Pendulum under Relapse Records, accompanied by singles "New Reality", "Blinded By a Blaze", "Blood Spiller", and "Reckoning".
