Julio Alberto Cruz García, known professionally as Casper Mágico, was born on June 21, 1989, in San Juan, Puerto Rico. He is a rapper and singer who gained prominence in the Latin trap and reggaeton genres. In 2005, he formed a musical duo with Anuel AA called Anuel y Casper, releasing their first single "Ella dice que te ama". His career was interrupted between 2010 and 2014 due to legal issues that led to his deportation to the United States. Upon his return, he resumed his music activities as a backup singer for Anuel AA until the latter's arrest in 2016. In December 2017, Casper Mágico achieved significant success with the release of "Te boté", featuring Nio García and Darell. The song topped charts in Nicaragua and Spain and received multiple certifications, including gold in France and multi-platinum in Spain. The remix version, released in April 2018 with Nicky Jam, Bad Bunny, and Ozuna, reached Number 1 on the Hot Latin Songs chart and position 36 on the Billboard Hot 100. It was certified 60x platinum by the RIAA. In July 2020, Casper Mágico collaborated with Nio García on the album Now or Never, which featured prominent artists like Arcángel, De la Ghetto, Rauw Alejandro, Yandel, Anuel AA, Bad Bunny, Ozuna, and Nicky Jam. The album reached number 5 on the Top Latin Albums chart and received multiple RIAA certifications, including Gold and Multi-Platinum (8x). He continued releasing singles through 2021–2023 and formalized a new business alignment in 2022, keeping momentum with steady collaborations. In 2025 he returned to a full project with Los Mágicos (released October 16 via his Los Magicos LLC in partnership with Warner Music Latina), highlighted by tracks like “DUCATI” featuring Lunay and iZaak, reaffirming his balance of street-leaning bars and melodic hooks.
