Candlebox

Candlebox, an American rock band from Seattle, Washington, were formed in November 1990. The original line-up consisted of lead singer Kevin Martin, guitarist Peter Klett, bassist Bardi Martin, and drummer Scott Mercado. The band began performing live in 1991 and gained attention with their eight-song EP, which led to a signing with Maverick Records. Candlebox's self-titled debut album was released in July 1993, featuring the hit singles "Change", "You", "Far Behind" (which reached number 18 on Billboard's charts), and "Cover Me". The album sold over four million copies and peaked at number seven on Billboard’s album charts. This success earned Candlebox opening slots for Rush and Metallica, as well as a main-stage slot at Woodstock '94. Their second album, Lucy, was released in October 1995 and certified gold. The band's third studio album, Happy Pills, followed in July 1998. After internal changes and disputes with their record label, Candlebox disbanded in 2000. The group reunited in 2006 and released a string of further studio albums: Into the Sun (2008), Love Stories & Other Musings (2012), Disappearing in Airports (2016), Wolves (2021), and The Long Goodbye (2023).
