Brian Fallon

A native of New Jersey (born in Red Bank on January 28, 1980), Brian Fallon began by recording demos of his songs and, in 2004, released the EP The American Music under the name Cincinnati Rail Tie. That same year, he founded This Charming Man, which would later become The Gaslight Anthem. The band, of which he remains a member alongside his solo career, recorded five albums between 2007 and 2014 and reunited in 2018. Two other bands were formed on his own initiative: The Horrible Crows, which released the album Elsie (2011), and Molly and the Zombies, which performs live and shares its songs online. In 2016, Brian Fallon released his first solo project, titled Painkillers, during a hiatus from The Gaslight Anthem. His penchant for Americana-infused rock is evident on the album, followed by the EP Georgia, featuring three previously unreleased tracks. In 2018, Sleepwalkers—recorded in New Orleans—followed. More intimate and melodic, his third solo album, Local Honey, was released in 2020, following a series of concerts with The Gaslight Anthem. He followed that up in 2021 with Night Divine, a self-produced album of Christian hymns, spirituals, and Christmas melodies, released on his own label, Lesser Known Records, in partnership with Thirty Tigers. In 2022, Brian Fallon reactivated The Gaslight Anthem full-time and reunited with the band for a world tour, ahead of the 2023 release of History Books, his first album in nine years. Produced by Peter Katis, it notably features “History Books”, a duet with Bruce Springsteen. That same year, Fallon collaborated with the ska band Catbite on “Yes It’s True”, while “You Have Stolen My Heart”, from Local Honey, was featured in the film Scream VI. In 2024, The Gaslight Anthem continued their comeback with the EP History Books – Short Stories, which features new versions of several tracks as well as a cover of Billie Eilish’s “Ocean Eyes”. The band also performed at MetLife Stadium during the NHL Stadium Series. Brian Fallon then joined Phlotilla for a cover of Blue Öyster Cult’s “Don’t Fear the Reaper”. In 2026, he performs “Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow” with Madi Diaz for the soundtrack of the film Ready or Not 2: Here I Come, then returns to his solo work with “Not Bad for New Jersey”, “Better Before”, and “Pearls”. Produced by Butch Walker, these songs heralded his fifth album, Not Bad for New Jersey, which was released in September 2026 on Lesser Known Records. The album features guest appearances by Brandon Flowers, Lori McKenna, Phil Collen, and Marc Ribot.
