Brent Faiyaz

Christopher Brent Wood, born September 19 1995 in Columbia, Maryland, is an American singer, songwriter, rapper, and record producer who performs under the name Brent Faiyaz. He began producing at twelve, selling beats to peers, and released his first EP Black Child in 2013. His breakthrough came with the 2016 single "Crew" with GoldLink, which peaked at number 45 on the Billboard Hot 100 and earned an RIAA octuple‑platinum certification. In 2017 he issued his debut studio album Sonder Son, followed by the EP Fuck the World in 2020, which reached number 20 on the Billboard 200. The 2022 album Wasteland debuted at number 2 on the same chart and produced singles such as "Gravity" (featuring DJ Dahi and Tyler, the Creator), "Wasting Time" (featuring Drake and The Neptunes), and "Price of Fame". In 2023 he released the mixtape Larger than Life, which entered the Billboard 200 at number 11. In February 2026 he released Icon, his third studio album, after founding the independent label ISO Supremacy in 2023. His work has earned Grammy nominations and American Music Award and BET Award nods, marking him as a consistent presence in contemporary R&B.
