Summer Walker

Summer Marjani Walker, known professionally as Summer Walker, was born on April 11, 1996, in Atlanta, Georgia. She is an American singer and songwriter who began her music career by teaching herself to play the guitar through YouTube tutorials. In late 2017, Walker signed with Love Renaissance, an imprint of Interscope Records, following her discovery on Vine. Her debut commercial mixtape, Last Day of Summer, was released in October 2018 and featured the lead single "Girls Need Love," which became her first entry on the Billboard Hot 100. Walker's breakthrough came with her debut studio album, Over It, released in October 2019. The album peaked at Number 2 on the Billboard 200 chart and received triple platinum certification by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). Notable singles from this period include "Playing Games" and a remix of "Girls Need Love" featuring Drake. Her second studio album, Still Over It, debuted atop the Billboard 200 in November 2021 and broke several streaming records. The album included collaborations with JT of City Girls on "Ex for a Reason" and SZA and Cardi B on "No Love." With the final installment of the Over It series, Finally Over It was released on November 14, 2025, which included tracks with Mariah The Scientist, Doja Cat, Teddy Swims, and others. Walker's accolades include a Billboard Music Award, an iHeartRadio Music Awards, three Soul Train Music Awards, and four Grammy Award nominations. As of 2025, Walker has sold over 32 million certified units from the RIAA between albums and songs.
