Real name Alexandre Becquart, rapper Bekar was born in Madrid, Spain, on January 8, 1998, before moving to Roubaix in northern France, where he arrived before the age of four. He soon developed a passion for rap and decided to write his own songs, then began practicing his flow by posting freestyles on the Internet or taking part in open stages. His meeting with producer Lucci (Léonard Luccini) was decisive: in 2017, he joined the North Face Records label, of which the latter is a member alongside Salek and Balao, two other young rappers from Lille. In parallel with his studies, which he finally abandoned in 2018, Bekar published his first track, "Elle me veut", before releasing his first solo project Boréal in 2019, featuring the track "La Mort a du goût". He then signed to Panenka Music, run by Fonky Flav', one of the members of the 1995 collective. He followed this up in 2020 with a new mixtape entitled Briques Rouges, supported by the single "Tiekar". In 2022, he released a new eighteen-track album entitled Mirasierra, featuring guest contributions from ZKR, Capitaine Roshi and Georgio. His first album, Plus Fort Que l'Orage (2023), includes the duet "Fisheye " with PLK, which reached number 69 in the French charts, alongside other collaborations with Myth Syzer and Zinée. After a tour of France, new tracks follow, including "Basquiat" with Georgio and "Brûle dans le silence". The latter was included in the new, more extensive version of the album, Fort. released in 2024. New tracks appear in 2025, including "Quand il neigeait encore", "Vont-ils s'entendre?","Saisons" with Yoa, "Hatem" with Georgio and "Laponie" with Gradur, taken from the album Alba, which reaches No. 4 on its release.
